A Crack in the Tooth Filling

While eating one day, one of my tooth fillings became cracked. I had the tooth filled years ago after getting a root canal. I was hesitant to go back to the dentist because I didn’t have such a pleasant experience when I initially had the tooth filled. My hesitation caused the cracked filling to become infected, and at that point, I had no choice but to seek help. I didn’t want to go back to the same dentist, so I looked for Albuquerque endodontic retreatment.

The infection caused a lot of pain in my mouth. I was able to dull the pain a little bit with some over the counter medication, but it was still pretty bad. I reluctantly made an appointment with a new dentist. My visit was a little different compared to when I went to my old dentist. They used a different x-ray machine to scan my mouth, one that supposedly used less radiation than a traditional x-ray. The dentist was able to give me a temporary filling and told me to come back a week later so that a final filling could be made. He also gave me something to take care of the infection.

The following week I went back to the dentist and he took the temporary filling out and put the permanent filling in my mouth. The pain in my mouth went away and my dental experience wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I always had a fear of going to the dentist since I was a kid, even though I would only go to have a checkup and cleaning. I may be willing to go to the dentist more often if every experience will be as pleasant as the one I had. I won’t be going for any more cracked fillings, because I’d rather not have to pay for any more.
